3 Fannichs and a nice looking Vango F10 Nexus UL2 Tent
An evening walk up in the Fannichs shortly after the summer solstice, taking in Meall a Chrasgaidh, Carn na Criche, Sgurr Mor and Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich. I set up a summit camp on Carn na Criche to test a new Vango F10 Nexus UL2 tent. In the end I decided to strike camp and head back down as the sky was very cloudy and there was no way there would be any stars or Aurora displays on show when it got dark. All footage was captured on DJI drone and Gopro and video best viewed in 4k or HD settings. Thanks for watching and please like, comment and subscribe to help develop the channel. ATB Kenny

    • @scottishkennyg
      @scottishkennyg Місяць тому

      Hi Jamie, thanks for watching the video and feedback. I have used the bypass too on a previous visit. I started a good bit before the bad step. The way was not well marked. there was a wee bit where I felt exposed, the ledges were covered in loose gravel and if these were wet or greasy it would be more hazardous. Add in mist or thick cloud and the risk would be amplified. I was lucky and it was clear, and dry so I could inch along until I got on to a ramp that led round and up to just after the step. On this trip I had decided to abseil as I had carried the rope for the descent from Sgurr nan Gillean anyway, the guys ahead of me allowed me to use their rope at the step which saved some time. Take care when you get there whatever route you chose. ATB Kenny

      thanks Nick, yeah I got lucky there. I was hoping to shoot the time lapse from the summit to include the landscape but with that wind I'm not sure the camera would have survived a pitch. It was nice to capture a wee bit of a show from the sheltered and safer side. Thanks for feedback. ATB Kenny

    Another fantastic video, thanks for sharing Kenny. It's a great walk up the wee bookil and the view along the ridge to Stob Dubh from Stob Coire Raineach is fantastic great to head up there first and see where your are heading to next. Hope the injuries are healing well. ATB Kevin & Rebecca

    Awesome scenes on one of my favourite 'wee' hills. Good to know conditions underfoot. Thanks for uploading, Kenny. New pack, BTW?

      thanks Nick, spot on, this is a great pair, very accessible, excellent path work by the Trust and affords great views. Nice one with with the pack, went for another Osprey Stratus 36ltr with a good solid structure which helps spread the load and allows air to cool the hot spot on the back. ATB Kenny

    Ey up Kenny, wonderful mate, your drone footage is amazing and I loved the time lapse too. I bet the wee bookil is much less busy than the big bookil isn’t it? All the best mate Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    Hi Kenny, what a couple of belting hills, both very rocky. A stunning area and those waterfalls at the end of the video were beautiful. Thanks for sharing your days adventure, all the very best mate, Dave 😀🥾⛰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

      thanks Dave, yeah i forgot how rocky they were as the last visit they were covered with snow. I was glad to have the drone to catch those waterfalls as they are not easy to view from the path. ATB Kenny
